Anyone use the MEC Marksmen single stage press? Looking to purchase one and I'm wondering if anyone loading precision rifle ammo is using them and what you guys think of it?
I am also looking at a MEC Marksman. Getting some slop in the ram of my rcbs. Looking at the mec and the Frankford Arsenal. Lots of good videos out there supporting the mec though
When I switched from a classic Lee single stage I went with the Forster Co-Ax. I use Redding type “S” bushing dies and the concentricity was noticeably improved. I think both of those other presses are same general design so other than price not much difference in performance. I No longer have to correct for runout too. Accuracy has improved and is consistent. Most use have been .338 LM and 6.5 CM Good luck and let us know which press and results.
I've been using a MEC Marksmen for a couple of year now and it's still just as smooth operating as the day I got it.... Nice heavy built press that has no flex in it, I don't know how "precision" my ammo is that I load on it but I routinely shoot moa or better groups out to 600 yards with ammo loaded on it in a couple different rifles.... FortuneCookie45LC is the one that sold me on the MEC, has a video doing a runout test on it that's a pretty good watch.
