Lee RGB Die Set

The bargain die set fights for its place on your reloading bench with this offering from Lee

Disclosure: this product was provided to Reloading All Day in partnership with Natchez

Black box labeled "LEE PRECISION INC" on gray concrete. The box is centered, showcasing a sleek design with a shiny surface.

The Lee RGB (Really Great Buy) die set is one of the most economically priced die sets I've ever seen. An MSRP of $26.99 (2025) sets a very high bar for the competition and appeals to nearly everyone as the cost of components continues to rise. Lee advertises these as "no-frills," and no-frills they are. The basic hinged box packs the full length sizing die, the seating die, and the instructional literature. No spare parts, no Allen keys, only what you strictly need.

The Sizing Die

The sizing die is four parts: the die body, the decapping/expanding stem, the lock nut, and the die lock ring.

The body is a solid piece of steel, nicely polished on the interior. The lock ring is different from many others in that it is meant to be finger tight; the o-ring will be squeezed flat when locking the die into the press and offers a surprising amount of hold. Lee offers a small wrench that interfaces with the lock ring in case you need a bit more leverage to get it loosened.

The decapping/expanding stem is also a solid piece and has a smooth shank. The lock nut is a split and tapered thread that grabs the decapper in a stranglehold when tightened up with a wrench. If you do happen to bend your decapping pin, replacements for the whole stem assembly are available from Lee for about $9

The Dead Length Easy Adjust Seating Die

The Dead Length Easy Adjust seating die continues the trend of simplicity and functionality. Again, four parts: the die body, the lock ring, the seating stem, and the adjustment barrel.

The adjustment barrel's o-ring fits tightly in the die, much like the lock rings do around the die, and offers a very reassuring firmness that your dialed adjustment will not move during a reloading session.

The die produced ammunition with a TIR of 0.001-0.011" when measured to the ogive of a Sierra 175gn MatchKing, 0.6" forward of the case mouth. Average TIR was 0.0058" and TIR SD was 0.0028". This would be an average TIR of 0.55°

Lee RGB Die Set: Final Thoughts

There isn't a lot to knock this die set for. Does it produce the straightest ammunition in the world? No. Does it feel like the most premium product on the market? No, but for the cost of damn near two large pizzas, it gives you a solidly performing die set. Even the stingiest of penny pinchers should be satisfied with the price tag and a wide majority of reloaders will not want for any more performance than our test sample offered.
